The amount of unstructured data being created and stored in today’s organizations is growing year over year; in most organizations, over 80% of data is unstructured. Guaranteeing the availability, confidentiality, and integrity of unstructured data is a growing management challenge. It will require increasing involvement from business users, increased automation, and increased transparency. This session will address specific challenges with data owner identification, permissions management, and data usage auditing.
Bio:
David Gibson is a 15-year IT industry professional with a breadth of experience in data governance, network management, network security, system administration, and network design. He is currently Director of Strategies for Varonis Systems, a software company specializing in Unstructured Data Governance. He holds many certifications, including CISSP and CISA. As a former a technical consultant, he has helped many companies design and implement enterprise network architectures, VPN solutions, enterprise security solutions, and enterprise management systems.
