Infosec Trends and Threats – What You Need to Know About the Fast Pace of Evolution Secure Computing

Scott Montgomery, VP Product Management
Secure Computing

Presentation Abstract:

In this presentation, we will examine a number of both business and technical issues that are paramount for information security professionals to understand. How market consolidation affects security, the cost of security in a VoIP project, the continued cost and threat of unwanted e-mail, as well as the do's and don'ts of engaging in a data leakage prevention engagement for the first time are some of the non-technical considerations. On the technical side, the incredible pace of malware evolution is investigated a great deal, as well as some tools and technologies that the attackers themselves are utilizing. The practitioner will learn about how the browser is the new battlefield as the internet drives further and faster toward delivered applications as web content rather than static pages and imagery. The presentation is designed to increase awareness and discuss the positive security model as a methodology and philosophy for contending with the pace of evolution.
